Fantastic Fall

After just saying we hadn't done our usual fall family activities, we blasted through most of them over the weekend
We kicked it off with a trunk or treat

No way will we let that monster steal our bestie!

Queen Gammie and Princess Leia

Lots of light saber battles went down

After a brother vs brother soccer match, we headed to a fall festival

Nice shot, big one!

Ring the witch's broom

Our entire group racked up at the cake walk. We 'walked' away with four wins!

That evening we headed to Kelsey and Jordan's Hall Farm Festival. We had an absolute blast!

Many s'mores and cups of hot cocoa were consumed, but the best part may have been the haunted hay ride!

I got some quiet after church today while the boys went off to Gallberry Farm with Mikel. Gammie helped me clean up around the house, and Emma stopped by so we could do our Halloween nails together.

It was actually cold today, but I think these three move so much, they didn't even notice

Amazing shot!

Perhaps my favorite picture of the day

It takes a lot to wipe these boys out. Mikey and Bekah, y'all are the real MVPs!

Nikolai is Five!

We had a fabulous time celebrating Nikolai's fifth birthday!

He wanted a Godzilla and King Kong party, so we held it at The Climbing Place so the kids could climb like Kong.

We waited until Daniel was home to have the party, and I am so glad we did! I got to spend time with the kids and the parents, and did very little of the backstage stuff. Daniel took care of all the things!

Nikolai has become quite the climber!

Such a joyful spirit

We had a great turnout and loved celebrating with our sweet friends

We are slowly opening the presents Nikolai received, enjoying each one individually before opening another

The whole family has enjoyed playing with new toys

His Lego skills have come so far!

Milestones
Nikolai is always smiling!
He loves deeply and wants to snuggle constantly
He is developing his athleticism, becoming a force on the soccer field, gaining speed in his run, and overall increasing his gross motor capabilities
He is learning lots of sight words, but is impatient with using letter sounds to sound out words he doesn't know by heart
He loves the Dragon Masters and I Survived book series
He is always included with Alexander and his friends, even the ones that are much older than Alexander. His relationship with his brother involves a lot of bickering unless other people are around, when they suddenly become best friends.
He puts his feet on everything and still uses baby talk, both of which drive Daniel and me crazy!
He has dropped his nap at home, but will usually still fall asleep during the school nap time.
He is a great eater, loving fruits and salad, but is not always the most adventurous with new foods, and he hates spicy!
He is generally happy and smiling and brings so much joy to our Crew.

He is already planning his next birthday party, and much to my amusement, says he wants a CocoMelon party! He loved CocoMelon when he was a baby, but hasn't watched it at all for the last three years, so I have no clue where this came from.

Major Catch-Up Required

I have fallen off posting on the blog, and have felt overwhelmed with how to jump back in. Well, I'm just going to throw it all here and try to do better in the future. Here's to looking forward!

We had an amazing summer wrap-up and jumped right into what has started as an incredible school year.

We have been blessed with fabulous teachers for both our boys this year. We are so happy at Village. It is nice to love where I work and know my boys are in good hands.

Alexander said, "I feel like these are my kind of teachers."

From wanting to be a dinosaur and a spider cat to a scientist and an Air Force officer. I can't lie, it isn't always easy to watch them grow up!

Brotherly love walks a thin line with fighting when mom has to run errands

All clear for both boys at the dentist. It was me that needed a filling!

Home grown watermelon

We loved the Museum of Natural Sciences

We were in good company!

Just one of the reasons I love my job so much

Our friends the Garcia's moved to town and we could not enjoy having them as neighbors more than we are! With triplets Niko's age and Benson being such a great friend for Alexander, it is always a party when we get together.

Gary is so patient with the boys as they learned to ride the dirt bikes and drifters

My boys' Christmas list got much longer after all the fun they've had at the Garcia's!

I am in my kids' birthday party era

Helping his mama as best he can

We have formed an amazing network of neighbor friends recently and it warms my heart to no end. It also keeps Zoey nice and warm! One of our neighbor besties is Zoey's newest favorite person. Our old girl will put up with more from Emma than she will from her own brothers.

Soccer season started and our new league does not look like we expected, but as long as we have Mikel on the field with us, the Martin boys are making the most of it. We have great coaches and Niko is playing up with Mikel and Alexander so is learning a ton. We just hoped for more competitive gameplay. Maybe next season!

Throwing in some ice skating fun

Cool nature observations

Gammie came for a visit and we did all the things
Played games

Celebrated her health milestones

Celebrated this guy turning five!

Soccer from the Sidelines

Spirit Week

Storytelling

Sleepover Fun

We love our neighbors!

Fun rivalry at the Back to School Bash

The silliest Bulldog around!

October may not have brought cooler weather yet, but it brought something much more important.
We got Daniel home!!

The boys and I ducked out of school a bit early to head to the airport and pick up this handsome guy

The boys took no time in jumping into daddy snuggles and stories

The Crew is complete again!

Jan came to visit the same day we got Daniel home.  That meant we had to head out for our annual tradition of Golden Corral and Spirit Halloween

Warm weather means it's still bike season

It's nice to have an extra set of hands for all the things. Daniel and Alexander have really had fun with the latest third grade project.

That's a wrap!
Niko's birthday party will be a blog for another day.
Our hearts are full as we head into fall.
