Great Grandpa Comes to Town

On Sunday, we had a wonderful treat when Daniel's grandpa and great uncle drove in to see us and to meet Alexander.

Three Generations!

Xander loved being the center of attention, and seemed to be especially fond of his great great uncle Robert.  He kept bringing Robert his cup and toys.

Grandpa brought Xander a sparkly ball that lights up.  Of course Xander loved this!!!

We used Christmas money from Grandpa to buy Xander a play set, which we had not let him play on yet (we just got it on Saturday evening).  We showed it to him and Grandpa at the same time.

Google photos put this together...cuteness!

Thanks for visiting, Grandpa!!  Come back anytime!

Our Growing Boy

We are having so much fun watching our baby turn into a boy!

He loves to dance and is now walking exclusively, even walking in the sand on the beach.

Play videos to watch him dancing!

He is climbing onto everything he can, meaning we are increasing our use of baby gates frequently.

Ball is his favorite game, whether it's basketball in his hoop from Grandmomma, soccer with Zoey, playing with the big basketball around the pool, or passing a ball back and forth with one of us.  He even used ball in his first sentence!
My dad and I were out by the pool with him playing with the basketball, and he said, "Mama, ball!" and pointed where he wanted me to put the ball.
When this guy is determined, he knows how to get what he wants!

His favorite activity at the table is throwing food to Zoey.  He is becoming more picky with his food at home, knowing what he has liked in the past, and avoiding new foods- offering them to his sister instead.  However, he eats anything I send to school, so if I introduce a new food at school for a few days, he will usually then eat it at home.  I often have to fix his dinner separate from ours, which is against my instincts, but when he eats, he sleeps, and we both need sleep!

Speaking of school, he finally moved into the one year old room!!
The director was waiting for him to grow out of his 10am tantrum before moving him, but after I told her that he goes down for a nap at home at 10am (they nap at 11 in the 1 year old room, but the infants nap whenever they are tired), she decided to give it a go.  Once he was no longer seeing all the infants sleeping soundly in their cribs, he quickly forgot about his 10am nap and joined into the big kid play!  He loved both the indoor and outdoor playgrounds (lots of climbing!) and followed the class routine wonderfully.  Everyone at the school has told me how impressed they are with his transition.  Leaha and I have been pushing for this for weeks!!
After just two days in the one year old room, he has even started to clean up his own toys.  I love his school!'

He still loves books and bath time and has recently started to give the best hugs.  His first real hug was to his big buddy, Cooper, from across the street.  It was such a sweet moment.
