Viva Las Vegas! Photo Drop

With internet getting set up today, I figured it is time to update the blog!
We have loved the mommy and me time we got to spend this summer between the move and the start of preschool!

The first day of school was also the day for our goods to be delivered.
Moving trucks never looked so good!

It was a long, hot, dry day.  It took me out, heaving and a nose bleed courtesy of pregnancy limitations, but we have all (well, most) of our stuff in the home now!

Pictures from the first day

Upon pick up

Not only are we unpacking and settling in, but the boys are taking on some major projects- tiling the entire downstairs, renovating the downstairs bathroom, and tackling the neglected landscaping

With Potatoes currently in school M,W,F, I still get to take advantage of one on one time.  This week, we met our new friends Katie, Grayson, and Owen at the children's museum

So much fun with our new friends

Working with big kids to create an invention

I was so impressed by his participation and ideas

We have also been soaking up as much time as we can with our friends Brittany, Kasch, and Hugh.
I am not ready for their move.  At all.

This boy.  He has my heart.  Seriously the happiest little heart!

We love our weekends!

Escape Room success!  We completed a room that has only 33% success rate with nearly 11 minutes to spare!  This rivaled when our crew set the record at Escape 360 in Destin.  So much fun- even crawling through the pass through at 33 weeks pregnant!

Moana at the lawn of our new neighborhood, complete with complimentary ice cream and one of Alexander's classmates being there, too and the two of them having a great time dancing through all the songs.

Look at you, Vegas.  Beginning to feel like my HOME!

Swim like a Fish!

With more time on our hands and summer sun beating down, we embarked on swim lessons!

Potatoes did ISR as an infant, but it was not a traditional class...too many babies!  The next year, we did lessons with Kiera where we just focused on his comfort in the water.  We took last summer off, working on skills at home.  This year, it felt like he might just be ready to take the plunge-
pun intended.

They gave him gummies nearly every day at sign-in.  Winning!

Daniel took Alexander to the pool the weekend before lessons started and got him used to wearing goggles, and practiced floating.  By Monday morning, he was ready!

Adrianna was an amazing instructor.  Our first day was one-on-one and she was very patient when he got nervous, but also found ways to motivate him to push through his nerves.

After the first day, his lessons included Ryder, a four year old who was two levels above Potatoes- learning the butterfly stroke!  In true Alexander fashion, seeing a peer excel provided motivation and from that day on, he soared!

He did so well, we decided he deserved a reward of his choice.  Being that he loves watching baking shows, including our new favorite, Nailed It!, we baked a cake.  He chose bright blue icing and fish sprinkles- very appropriate!

Walking to his lesson like he owns the place

Yesterday marked his final lesson, with a celebratory ride on the big slide as the grand finale.
Adrianna rode the slide with him and at the bottom, she released him-
he swam the entire way to the stairs!!
He swam with his face in the water, coming up for breath and then going back down.
I am so impressed!!!!

To continue the fun day, we went straight from swim to a picnic at the park and a playdate with Kasch.

I am definitely in denial that the Farley family is preparing to move.
