Threes on Threes on Threes!

 Our baby is THREE!

We had a powerful Power Ranger Party with just a few friends and a whole lot of fun!

We replaced our busted bounce house as Niko's big birthday surprise

The boys loved helping me with the decorations and the sweets

It was a very colorful party!

Decorating with two boys, and allowing them creative control, may not result in bakery-style cakes, but we had a blast, Niko loved it, and it tasted great!

We even had help cleaning up after our party from our buddy Tristan!

We were so excited to have Bodhi and Tristan join us.  It was an hour trek for them, so we were thrilled they could stay for football (a nail-biting Tennessee game for Lindsey, for sure) and burgers.  Lindsey and I were pregnant together with our older boys when we were both at ECAC, and all the boys get along so easily!

At Niko's last well visit, his doctor detected a heart murmur.  She asked a lot of questions and listened again, confirming she did indeed hear one.  She referred us to a pediatric cardiologist.  It took us two months to get an appointment, but we were able to get in this week.

At three years and three days, Niko measured in at 33 inches and 33.3 pounds

Our little guy did so amazing at his appointment, the nurse said she was going to thank our doctor for sending him her way, and the cardiologist said it was obvious we don't use a lot of screen time to entertain him.  I was beaming with pride!
After two hours of diagnostics and over one hundred sonogram images, the cardiologist confirmed that Nikolai's heart is whole and healthy!  He will always have a murmur, and the extra sound he has can be indicative of a hole, but his heart has no holes!

Milestones
Niko is so different from Alexander!
He is all about order and has a memory like an elephant. He is less coordinated than his super athletic older brother, but that may be because he is simply so big.  He continues to be the tallest in his class and grew two clothing sizes last month!
His favorite food is mayonnaise on a hotdog. We have no idea where he got this concept from, but will eat it breakfast, lunch, and dinner if we would let him.  He also loves fruit and has just recently started shying away from vegetables.  Dinner is a real struggle because he is convinced anything I fix is not something he likes.
He speaks very well and loves to tell stories.  He recalls everything so we get detailed reports of his happenings at school.
He still cries at school and at night sometimes, but he is working really hard at it.  He is definitely a mama's boy, but names Alexander as his best friend.
He loves whole names, so will quickly tell you he is Nikolai Darius Martin and his brother is Alexander Octavius Martin.  He is learning Daniel and my full names but always gets a serious case of the giggles when he hears them.
I am so excited to see what this next year brings for our little big boy.
We love you, Nikolai Darius Martin!
