Time For Fall, Y'all

Bring on the pumpkin spice, fall festivals, and trunk-or-treats!

Happy Fall Y'all

Our school PTO put on a fabulous Fall Festival

The following day we went to a base festival
Alexander was chosen as a magician's assistant and helped a bird appear from a magic sack

He used a magic pirate sword and a little Abracadabra

Niko loved the sensory tunnel the most and went through twice

Between fall festivities, we enjoyed a birthday party for one of Alexander's classmates

We went directly from the party to the pumpkin patch with no naps, but we had a blast

The weather was perfect at the pumpkin patch
We were still smiling even after being lost in the corn maze for 45 minutes

No need to cry for help from the maze tower.
We found the exit on our own!

We finished the weekend with more fall festivities

Carving pumpkins is a family affair

The boys held it together after a day jam packed with a birthday party and a pumpkin patch and no naps

We sure love fall!

IT should be noted that JanJan escaped all pictures, but her presence this October is a huge gift to our family!

The Charleston Children's Festival

With Nikolai needing to rest and Daniel needing to scope the city for work research, our crew hit the road to Charleston this past weekend

We left after dinner on Saturday and stayed in a hotel so we could enjoy a full day on Sunday

It was so nice exploring the beautiful city. I haven't been to Charleston since I was in college amd Daniel and I were first dating.
We were very cautious with Niko  even though he had doctor's clearance to start playing again

After shopping and sight seeing, then New York style pizza for lunch, we made our way to the Charleston Children's Festival.  I was worried when I saw all the bounce houses as we parked, but there were tons of activities Nikolai could enjoy without fear of injury after last week's concussion.

We rode the spinning strawberry, but sent Alexander off with a family that wanted to spin FAST while we took it nice and easy. The family was so kind. They had two boys like us, one of which was also named Alexander,  and both of whom had the exact same shoes as our Alexander! We could see their strawberry from ours and I know it would have made me sick to ride with them!

This performer had all the kids laughing as he played tricks on the crowd and juggled from way up high

Our Zoey girl was very happy to be included on our family trip

Rainbow Row of Bounce Houses

The fire truck had its ladder extended to 179 feet!

Excavator

Hey dirt! See you later!

Our trip was short and sweet. Hopefully the boys are at an age where trips like this can happen more often because we loved this little adventure.

G-Momma and Great Grandpas

We have enjoyed being closer to G-Momma so we can see her more.

It's a two and a half hour drive, and the boys have been so good about it. They ask to go and play with their G-Momma!

Our crazy boys love to climb and this last visit was no exception.  As I was driving away to grab lunch, Daniel turned to tell me something and in just seconds, Niko climbed up a wall and fell off, slipping on some acorns.

It wasn't a high fall, but Niko immediately got sleepy and started throwing up that evening. Daniel and Jan took him into a pediatric ER the following day.  A CT scan showed no swelling or bleeding (praise God) but they diagnosed a concussion based on symptoms.  This put our active little man on rest and restoration for a week.  This burden fell largely on Jan, due to work and school.  We are so blessed that she is here!

Lots of crafts and stroller walks helped our little guy get what he needed to recover.

We love you, JanJan!

We had a very special visit during the week! Daniel's Grandpa and Great Uncle came to have dinner on their way down to Florida. The boys were thrilled to see them and Alexander was very excited to have a Great Great Uncle! It was Niko's first time meeting a Great grandparent.  We had a great dinner with Great Grandpa, Great Aunt, and Great Great Uncle!!

Niko is cleared to return to normal activities tomorrow.  We are all ready to get back to our routine (especially JanJan, probably!).
