Amazing Aunt Robin!

It has been a few years since we have seen Aunt Robin, and the Martin Crew could not have been more excited!

We started the week with baking Robin's favorite cake from childhood as a group: strawberry with strawberry icing.  It was delicious!

The boys took no time warming up to Aunt Robin.  They were so excited, Niko refused to come downstairs each morning until Alexander told him Aunt Robin was awake.

They stayed snuggled up whenever possible

Until they realized the sliding door was a bit dirty and needed a quick clean

We spent the beautiful days hiking

We explored tunnels and fossils at Tule Springs

Niko found a new best friend

We had a blast at Isaac's birthday party!

At first, Niko was being shy and clung to his 'Aunt Wobin'

Once we got outside, Nikolai was eager to try out all the rides and quickly came out of his shell

I joked that if Robin walked off with Niko, no one would question her.
They ahve the exact same hair color!

This dragon has been here for 30 years.  Miles's dad, Eric, said it was here when he had a birthday party here as a kid!  Niko kept his hands up the whole time.

Daniel and Alexander got the fastest go kart every time and left everyone in their dust!

We all crashed hard after our morning hike and the party.

We were ready to get back out the next morning, though.
We had so much fun at Red Rock

No matter how many times we hike here, it always amazes me!

We found water!

Robin found a narrow pass that only Alexander could traverse

We made it a true Vegas visit by taking in a show

We went to see Shin Lim's Limitless magic show.  It did not disappoint!

Robin also got to see Alexander in Taekwondo a few times.  I have to say, five time black belt Master Tony is an incredible instructor.

Robin and I spent President's Day exploring the strip with the highlight being the Chinese New Year display at the Bellagio gardens.

We had to say goodbye to Robin on Tuesday, 2-22-22, and just to plant her nephews in her mind forever, we sent her off with her two year old nephew in a tutu!

This trip was one we will cherish and I am so grateful that it worked out so well.  We cannot wait to spend more time with Aunt Robin!

Photo Drop!

We are making the most of our time left in Vegas!  With a move coming up this summer, we really want to enjoy every moment we have.

ProBowl Fun!

Making the most of our time with these guys!

The Springs Preserve is something we have to visit more before the temperatures heat up

We have made incredible friendships that I know will last a lifetime

Niko loved the Choo Choo so much he hasn't stopped talking about it since we first saw it

Living room dance parties are a must!

We loved getting to spend even a short time with dear friends from Florida!

100th Day of Kindergarten

This guy is talking so much now and has shown a propensity towards organization and cleanliness.  We all try to take lessons from him in this.  He knows all his colors, and many of his numbers and letters.  He remembers details from his school day, seeming bound to be a story teller like his Gammie! He amazes us every day.

This big guy continues to amaze us with his math skills, grows in his reading skills, and excels in athletics.  He started learning single turn jump rope last week and today got 84 turns without a miss! He is also in Taekwondo three times a week and does best during sparring.  He can stand against much taller kids in class, blocking and getting kicks in.  The slower form days are harder for him but he tries hard to stay focused.

This was one of the problems Alexander came across in his self-paced homework last week.  He solved it without pen and paper or assistance!

Loving the Vegas life, baby!
