Boos and Twos

Alexander had two major milestones last week.
On Tuesday, he had his first experience with Trick-or-Treating.

We felt very honored to have Leaha, Bryan, and Adam all join our family for this monumental evening.
Because he was the only kid in our group, he didn't quite grasp the concept and needed reminding to say, "trick-or-treat," despite the fact that Leaha and I practiced with him all afternoon before we headed out.

He did not understand why he kept getting candy, but we weren't letting him eat all of it.

We only went to about six houses, and Zoey ran inside two of them!  Thankfully, we know nearly all of our neighbors from our walks, so both neighbors laughed at our puppy intrusion and we were able to quickly get her back to us.

He got a bit giddy as we walked home, and pulled out his true MarioKart skills with speed boosters.  He got all of us running down the road at one point or another, which was especially funny with the balloons trailing behind the MarioKart characters.

I didn't get as many pictures as I would have liked, but the picture of us in front of the dragon feels pretty classic!

Another major milestone that Potatoes had this week was moving up to a new classroom!

On Wednesday, Leaha sent me pictures of Xander playing in the two year old room.

When I picked him up from school, three people, including the director, stopped me to tell me how well he did with the big kids!  They even moved his cubby into the new classroom that day!

The mental exercise of learning all the new routines wore him out!  That evening, we could tell he was tired, so we let him eat dinner on the couch.

He fell asleep while eating!

The next evening, Daniel was with him while I was at a spouse's fair.  The Two's wore this kid out so bad, he was acting a fool through the evening.

I am so excited for him to be in this room.  I love the teacher (I have loved all of his teachers so far).  Ms. Stephanie runs the class with a lot of structure and is very disciplined.  Xander is already practicing with scissors, learning to walk in a quiet line through the halls, and moving from one center to the next with the group rather than having free reign of toys.

Stephanie said Alexander is learning very fast!  Apparently, the Ones joined his new class to walk to the playground, and Xander started running and being loud with his bestie Mia (she'll move up very soon).  Stephanie said one stern saying of his name, and he snapped to attention and found his place back in line with the Twos!

There is a special bond between Xander, Eric, and Mia at school.  These three all came to the school at about the same time, so they have known each other since Xander was 10 weeks old.  He talks about them all the time, and was so excited to rejoin Eric when he moved up to the Twos.  I know Ms. Stephanie will be in for an adjustment when she has all three of the amigos!

We enjoyed watching his future school, Choctaw High School,
annihilate the Bay team from Panama City

He loves his daddy so much
