I'll Love You FOUR Ever

As Alexander's birthday approached, his creativity shown through in his cake request.  He asked for a Hulk fist with a number 4 candle in front of it, with Santa Claus climbing up the top trying to steal the number.  Gotta love that he is embracing having a birthday so close to Christmas!

After getting an outrageous quote for having this made, I decided to attempt it myself.  With Alexander's help, I think it turned out pretty well!
We added Frozen mint chocolate chip ice cream to the mix, as he is totally obsessed with Frozen, originally asking for an Elsa birthday.

Instead of a party, we took to the slopes!  In line with his Frozen obsession, Alexander has been asking for snow and really wanting to ski.  We signed him up for a five hour ski school and headed up to Lee Canyon, about a 40 min drive away.

His first presents of the day included the proper gear for the day, and a bright green sled!

He was so excited, he kept eating the snow while the lessons began-
luckily there was no yellow snow!

It was hard to get pictures while he was skiing, but he did great!  His instructor said he could probably stand one more set of lessons, and then he would be ready to fly solo.
This kid is so athletic!

Daniel and I took turns between the slopes and baby snuggles.  I did pretty well, with only a few falls on the bunny slop, but alas, skiing is not my forte.  I am definitely feeling it today.

After ski school, we were ready to test out the sled.

We had so much fun!  Even Nikolai went down a couple hills with Alexander and me.

These two have a relationship that runs so deep.

He enjoyed some hills by himself, too.  Apparently, when Nikolai and I went to warm up in the car, Alexander went down a really big hill, cut through two kids who were walking in the path of the hill, and caught some major air twice, grabbing the attention of the crowd.  He stayed on and can boast a real Griswold-ish ride!

Exhausted, we headed home.  We had Bryan over for lasagna and cake, and opened his birthday presents.  It was an awesome day and one that wore him out to the core!  It took us twenty minutes to get him out of bed this morning.

Happy Birthday Big Brother, aka my hero!
